Price of Veneers

As with any dental work, the price of veneers greatly depends upon your personal situation and the professionals you are working with, including dentist fees, lab fees (if applicable), material fees, and the time and effort that goes into the actual procedure.

Types of Veneers

For a quick recap, veneers are thin covers adhered to the front of your tooth to improve the cosmetic appearance of your smile. They should have no affect on your tooth’s overall functionality, but work aesthetic wonders for chipped, misshapen, or discolored teeth.

When you are looking at different dentists’ prices and offers, you may first want to look at cosmetic dentists. Cosmetic dentists focus more on cosmetic and aesthetic procedures and so will be able to give you the best work for their pay. They may, however, charge a bit more.

Most professional cosmetic dentists will quote you at an average of $1,250 per veneer, but this may vary depending upon whether you choose porcelain veneers or composite veneers.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain is the widely preferred material for veneers, as it is extremely durable, stain resistant, and blends well with the natural teeth. Porcelain veneers are the most expensive, however, ranging from $1,000 to as much as $2,000 per veneer, dependent upon the dentist and the area. If you are searching for reduced prices, however, many dental schools will offer veneer procedures for as little as $500. Just remember, the quality will not be as high.

Composite Veneers

Because these are seen to be inferior to porcelain, many dentists actually don’t offer composite veneer services. However, they are much cheaper, between $400 and $1,500 each, depending upon the extent of the problem. Composite veneers are also much easier to apply, and they can be done in a single appointment.

You may want to call different offices and ask them about their veneer price range. But keep in mind, if you want a more realistic quote, you will need to make a consultation appointment so that the dentist can examine your particular situation.
