Teeth Bonding Cost

Teeth bonding is an alternative to traditional fillings, with some added bonus. Composite resin bonding can be utilized to repair damaged teeth and cavities, but can also be used cosmetically to make small alterations to tooth shape and coloration. The teeth bonding cost will include the extent of the bonding, the amount of materials used, and the dentist of your choice.

The Process

The dentist will apply a thin coat of plastic to the outside of the tooth before applying the composite resin to its surface. The dentist will then shape it over and around the tooth according to your needs and wants, coloring it to your natural tooth color, and then hardening it through an intense light.

If the alterations needed are small, this whole process can take place in one sitting. If you need larger modifications, it will require two appointments. On the first, the affected teeth will have a mold taken of them while the dental lab colors the filling, and you will have a temporary filling placed. On the next appointment, the permanent filling will be placed, and will look and feel more natural.

With proper care, tooth bonding will last 7 to 10 years. Is the teeth bonding cost worth it? That depends on you and your personal needs, but on average, composite bonding ranges between $300 and $600 per tooth. Dental insurance may or may not cover a portion of the bonding cost because it is often a cosmetic procedure.
