Cosmetic Teeth Surgery

Many people these days are looking for cosmetic teeth surgery options to brighten, straighten, repair or restore their smiles. There are several options of cosmetic dental procedures that will range from less than a hundred to a few thousand dollars depending upon what it is.

Kinds of Cosmetic Teeth Surgery

Dental Implants or Bridges

If you need a kind of cosmetic teeth surgery to replace missing or failing teeth, you will be looking into dental implants or conventional bridges. Both can replace one or more teeth, but dental implants are the more effective and pricier option.

Dental implants are titanium posts implanted into the jawbone in the place of a missing or extracted tooth. A crown is placed atop it that looks and feels natural. These can be whitened and used as normal teeth, and you can have multiple or just one.

A bridge will utilize surrounding natural teeth to anchor a fake tooth “bridge” over the gap in your smile. These will take a little more maintenance, but are still cosmetically pleasing. If you would prefer an implant but have multiple teeth in need of replacing, you can get a dental bridge that is anchored by an implant.

Cosmetic Veneers

Veneers function as “covers” for your teeth, covering up unsightly chips, stains, or discoloration. They are a permanent solution and will give your smile a more perfect appearance. You can have veneers applied to just one tooth, or many, or even all of your teeth, but they aren’t cheap.

Bonding

Tooth bonding is a way to fill in cracks or chips or minor imperfections in your teeth. The bonding material looks completely natural and actually strengthens the tooth it bonds to.

Whitening

Whitening is of course the best way to make your smile whiter and brighter. You can choose the more expensive, but safer option of professional whitening at the dentist office, or you can purchase a professional or over-the-counter take home kit, most of which have mainly positive results.

Keep in mind that most dental insurance policies do not cover cosmetic teeth surgery as they are seen as voluntary dental operations. This means you will be paying most of the price out of your pocket unless your dentist deems the procedure necessary in order to preserve your oral health.
