Full Denture Cost

If you are in need of a full set of dentures, you may be worrying about the cost. Truthfully, there are several factors that go into the full denture cost, including the quality, the materials, the adhesives, and whether or not you want denture implants.

Denture implants happen to be at the higher end of cost, but they also come with the highest quality, durability, and comfort. Denture implants are dental implants that are made to “snap” into your dentures, keeping them firmly in place, while allowing removal for cleaning. Other types of full dentures will require adhesives or pads to keep them put.

Dentures have actually been around since 700 B.C. and were made out of a variety of materials. It wasn’t until the 1700’s that porcelain dentures were invented. For awhile, many used gold dentures, but because this was not very cost-effective, denturists began looking into other materials.

Today, full dentures are most commonly made out of acrylics and are fit for optimum comfort and usage. There are partial dentures made out of nylon materials, but these aren’t as functional for full denture sets.

What Is the Full Denture Cost?

Your average set of full dentures will be priced anywhere between $300 and $2,000 depending upon the quality you look for, the materials you choose, the denturist you work with, and the area you live in. If you are looking for the highest quality and a set that will last you longer, the price will be on the higher end. The highest quality and most natural looking denture sets can even cost up to $7,000. It is up to you, your pocketbook, and what sacrifices, whether of money or comfort, you are willing to make.

One thing you may want to look into is making a short travel to your denture specialist. On average, full denture cost will be higher in larger cities and lower in more rural areas. The best option would be to call several clinics and dentists around your area and get estimates from them so that you can choose the best price. You may also want to check your insurance coverage.

More recently, the option of an online dental lab has become available. Many people are finding cheaper dentures of higher quality make through this option. After you sign up, you will be sent an impression kit in the mail with simple directions to follow.
